Perhaps it would have been too much to ask to replicate Bikini Bottom and sync gameplay there? Instead of using colorful backstories, characters, environments, and more this franchise already had - developers strangely decided to create a game set in a dream world. The fact that the game has very little to do with the lore and setting of the SpongeBob SquarePants instantly confirms the game's obscurity. ![]() If this is more of an ominous, cult game - perhaps it won't even need to be good for it to win some acclaim. That concept alone is enough to pull any inquisitive players into the mix. What's intriguing about SpongeBob SquarePants: Creature from the Krusty Krab is that fans have been saying this game takes a dark and obscure turn from the cartoon. Games are releasing like episodes, but I could be overthinking it.
